TRYforGOOD organizes events, (beyond workshops & meetups) to engage masses (especially youth), to sow the seeds of sustainability in their conscious minds already, so that it stays there, grows and evolves leading into thoughtful actions for a better tomorrow. Our events are innovative concepts that are FUN, informative, and above all just igniting the spark which is there, but just needs a little reminder.
Spaces for GOOD: Exhibit on Artivism
Spaces for Good is an extension of the concept of TRYforGOOD to give it tangibility through a studio/gallery, where we have been doing many engaging workshops to build awareness on sustainability.
The youth were first ignited with exposure on the pertinent problem areas with rapid urbanization and consumerism. They were given the topics of My wedding, My transportation, My consumption and disposal and My community (old/lonely/ disabled). Anju, the initiator of TFG, a communications strategist and a concept artist created teasers herself to bring around the artivism- activism through art.
Doodle to De-stress: Also Creating Inclusive spaces
Doodling is de-stressing. Art therapists, healers, neurologists has confirmed it. While anyone can be a part of it, our focus was to extend it beyond especially for those, who may need it the most -the people who get more confined due to their rising limitations in mobility with age, disability or increasing traffic and commotion.
Eco-selfie Contest
Valentine’s day is the day for expressing love for each other. Mainly celebrated by lovers; the commercial sense has extended it to express love for family, friends and there is chocolates, flowers, gifts and messages all over. TRYforGOOD tweaked this a bit and created a wave to “express nature for love” with an online eco-selfie contest. The contest was sponsored by eco-brands Soma, Tapri, Brahma Textiles and there were other partners for its outreach and virality
BYOB: Bring Your Own Bag
When artsy people meet from across the globe, with similar focus- they orchestrate to create a rhapsody. Such was the joy to have Roya, a visual artist and environmentalist from Iran. Together with the youngsters, we painted eco-friendly bags to spread the message for avoiding single use plastic bags and use eco-friendly bags.
Earth Day- Cartoon Exhibit
There could not be a better day for Anju (as she conceptualized TRYforGOOD) to share what’s on her mind than the Earth Day. She was on a spree to create above 40 cartoons in about 4 days to tickle people with humor for a buy-in and call for the concerns for sustainable actions
